Hearing Aids & Hearing Tests
If sensorineural hearing loss is present, then hearing aids are advocated in many cases. It is important to understand that hearing aids do not “give you your hearing back.” They merely amplify external sounds to help boost the hearing that still remains. Most candidates receiving hearing aids come to the conclusions they are missing out on information due to poor hearing. They are bothered by family members who frustrate them with their inability to hear. They are frequently told that the radio, TV, are too loud, and are often reminded that they frequently ask “what?” during a conversation.
Brands of Hearing Aids
Cedar Crest ENT Associates have a certified Audiologist who evaluates patients along with the physician to determine the best course of management for the hearing impaired patient. Additionally, we prefer to utilize several different hearing aid manufacturers because of the individual needs and preferences of each patient. We also frequently deal with the following manufacturers: Oticon, Microtech, Phonak, Siemens and Starkey, among others.
