GERD (Acid Reflux)
Gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD is a chronic disease and can be life-long once it begins. This is a condition in which the liquid from stomach regurgitates back up into the esophagus. The regurgitated liquid contains acid and pepsin which is produced by the stomach. Patients with GERD present with such symptoms as frequent heartburn, asthma, sore throat, nausea, hoarseness, laryngitis, lump in the throat feeling, earaches and bad breath.
